Nabbed in New Zealand by Christine Edwards
Taking a break from her job at an art gallery in Charleston, South Carolina, Valla Denier escapes on a week-long camping tour of New Zealand with a small group of companions and two skilled guides. Valla is enchanted by the wild beauty of the South Island and Kaikoura Beach, as well as the local men. After catching the eye of a rugged, drop-dead-gorgeous man in a café, she is shocked to run into him later that evening at a karaoke bar. Setting her shyness aside, she serenades the stranger with a seductive tune. She never imagines the lyrics would be taken literally.
Later that evening, Valla is taken from her campsite and wakes up in a strange room. Her captor is the man from the bar, Brocan Judge, a six foot five wall of muscle with piercing, cobalt blue eyes. He is not responsible for her abduction; his friend has delivered Valla as a gift, and repairing the situation is not as simple as it sounds.
Valla soon learns that Judge is a Dom, intent on punishing her for her willful ways. Even more surprising is Valla’s reaction to him. When he offers her the choice to stay or leave, she must decide how far down the submissive path she is willing to travel. But trust has never been Valla’s strong suit. Will she be able to set aside her inhibitions and give in to the strong hand she has secretly craved, or will doubt trump her growing desire?
Valla is on the vacation of her dreams when she sees the tall, dark stranger with eyes like mesmerizing liquid pools. When the group decides to leave camp for a night of fun at the local karaoke pub, Judge is the last person she expects to see in the crowd. The attraction is quite mutual and after her little "Criminal" stage performance, Judge makes a move only to be stopped short.
'After two quick strides toward me, one long arm reaches right up over my left shoulder and his towering body moves in close, caging me between his powerful frame and the smooth wall.
He studies my face with the detached curiosity of a scientist. "Do you need guidance for being a bad girl then?"
My voice is nearly stuck in my throat but I somehow manage to answer him clearly, even showing a bit of sass. "Yes. Yes I do. Are you the man who'll be able to give it to me?"
A confident, devilish smile slowly crosses his well-formed lips. "Absolutely!"
Those eyes are roaming all over my features as if he's never encountered a female before.'
After returning to camp, all is back to normal even though she can't shake the encounter from her mind. Then the unthinkable happens.....
"Where am I?"
The question begins circling around in my foggy brain. This is so wrong. Something horrible must have occurred...but what?
Alarm bells rapidly fire off within my head as I start to panic. Glancing around me, I gasp when I see that my right wrist is tethered by a smooth, braided length of rope.
Snippets of the hazy conversation I'd overheard the night before come back to me...two men talking...thick accents...strong arms lifting me.
Slight movement from within the heavily shadowed fire-lit room instantly commands my attention.
"Oh my god. It can't be...it's him!"
I really enjoyed this book. It's well written and the characters are likable. The plot held my attention throughout! And Judge...phew...where can I find one of those?
