What a Tumultuous river of emotions between Alexia Sloane, twenty-six year old owner of Java and Sweeties, and Jude Delecroix, lead singer of one of the most famous rock bands in the country, Bayou Stix. The past couple of years Lexi has been focusing all her energy into her business in an attempt to forget the man who broke her heart, all of her heart. Jude has been living life on the road drowning his pain in alcohol and groupies, trying to forget the one and only girl he has ever loved.

When a concert brings Jude back to town, he plans to confront Lexi and demand answers. He doesn't prepare himself for the rush of emotions that come slamming back to the surface when he walks in the door of Java and Sweeties.

"I thought my heart was dead. I thought I was empty...but after tonight, after seeing her again, it's beating. Painfully so, but at least it's beating again. It's telling me that no matter what, it still wants what it's always wanted. It wants what completes it, the reason it beats...it wants Lexi. I want Lexi."

Jude decides Lexi is worth fighting for and wants to settle down from life on the road. He must prove to Lexi that he plans to stick around. The past lurks in both of their minds but they are afraid to dig up old pain and heartache, ruining any chance of a future. But a tour offer too good to turn down comes his way ultimately leading to a devastating misunderstanding that sets off a chain reaction. When Lexi and Jude finally learn what really happened that night eight years ago, more than hearts are ripped open and broken.

"Why don't I feel anything? Ha. I'm broken. How pathetic am I? Not only did I let Jude Delecroix break my heart back then, but now, this time, I let him break me. And I don't even care."

A very steamy ride through love, friendship and loss. The characters are engaging and the plot held my interest. I felt the biggest connection with Jude. He was a jerk in the beginning, yeah, but only to hide his pain. Lexi's friends Erik and Bradi were strong supporting characters and quite entertaining as well. Definite 4 Star on plot and character development, 5+ on the Steam Meter!

He knows there is something in her past that keeps her from getting close but not the extent of the damage or the cause until one exceptionally heated encounter cracks Chloe's facade.

I was not expecting the plot twist at the end. It completely caught me off guard and wrenched my soul. You can feel both Chloe and Ethan's pain, for they are both broken souls lost in a sea of emotions. When the past comes back to haunt them and tie them both together in a way I never imagined, I could do nothing but stare in utter shock wondering what the heck just happened. Well played, Tracy, well played! You have definitely hooked me!

Two worlds collide the night Kate and her best friend Michelle meet the handsome men at dinner while on a Girl's Shopping Spree Vacation to forget Chelle's latest breakup. Dylan can't take his eyes off of Katherine and while she is drawn to his dark good looks and blue eyes, she isn't about to let her guard down. Never trusting and self-conscious of her own appearance, she blows off his attention as a play to get her into bed and nothing more. When Dylan does make his move, he comes face to face with a brick wall and then pure, hot anger at his boldness.

"He probably wanted someone to spend the night with, and I was near. Maybe he was too tired to look for someone else so he decided to take what he thought was easy. I was just the flavor of the evening, and if he lived, as I supposed, in a Ben and Jerry's universe, I was just one of the many flavors."

As hard as Kate pushes him away, he just pushes that much harder to get close. The back and forth banter was entertaining, snarky and kept you guessing where it would lead. Dylan could be so cold and distant from the rest of the world but when it involved Kate, his emotions exploded and swirled around like a hurricane. He was determined to get Kate by whatever means, pushing past all of her boundaries, to the wall of ice in her chest. Kate just as stubbornly refused that Dylan meant anything to her, friends that sometimes sleep together was all she was capable of giving him.

Things heat up and get quite intense, just when you think they are making progress, BAM - Kate is pissed and they end up three steps back. She isn't used to the daily invasion in her life but most of all, she isn't used to feeling something for someone other than her parents or two best friends. I am really rooting for Dylan in this one. I just want to shake the stubbornness out of Kate! The end will throw your emotions in utter chaos and I have to read Book 2 to find out what happens next!
